Cheap flights to France: the Midi - Toulouse, Rodez, Carcassonne and Perpignan

TOULOUSE - regional capital of the Midi with rail and road communications in every direction. Good base for skiing in the Pyrenees - Andorra as well as the French resorts of Ax, St Lary, Peyragudes & Piau-Engaly. Home to Airbus and French Rugby it's a much under-estimated lively cultural centre. Airport just 10 mins from city centre ... and shared by Airbus for testing its new planes.
RODEZ - people thought that Ryanair had made a mistake with this one - Rodez is a big village lost in the Massif central - but O'Leary has had the last laugh as the route is used intensively by British second-home owners.
CARCASSONNE - Gateway to the mediterranean, the vineyards of Languedoc and home to the biggest and best preserved fortified citadel in Europe, Carcassonne has a lot going for it. Ryanair have centred a range of direct flights from the UK and Ireland here, in their first foray into southern France. The airport is - like most Ryanair airports - only 10 mins from the town centre.
PERPIGNAN - on the mediterranean coast down near the Spanish border it serves the vast campsites and summer rentals along the coast as well as acting as an arrival point for the ski resorts in the E Pyrenees (Font Romeu, les Angles, Bolquère etc)
MONTPELLIER - although it's nearly on the coast visitors to Montpellier would be better off to concentrate on the town's many attractions as well as the rugged vine-covered hinterland rather than the disappointing coast. The exception is the port of Sète which is a solid fishing town thick with good places to eat. .
